Similar incidents were reported in Bahrain, where smoke was seen rising in the Al Juffair area near the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama. In Qatar, the Interior Ministry advised citizens to shelter in place after a Patriot missile system reportedly intercepted projectiles aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military facility in the region. Qatar’s Defense Ministry confirmed it had repelled several attacks and declared a state of high alert, while also closing its airspace.
Explosions were also heard in Kuwait, leading authorities to call on citizens to stay home and suspend normal work activities. Regional governments have activated air defenses, with many projectiles reportedly intercepted before reaching their targets.
