Daniel lunged forward and tried to grab the key from Noah’s hand. “Give that to me,” he demanded. “It was just a toy from his collection.”
“Get back, Daniel,” I said as I stepped between him and my son. “Do not touch him.”
The judge leaned forward over the bench and narrowed his eyes at my husband. “Counselor, restrain your client immediately,” he said.
Margaret trembled now, her hands gripping her silk purse tightly. “I only tried to help you, Daniel,” she hissed. “You said she planned to take everything from us.”
