One neighbor, who asked not to be named, said she was just stepping outside when she first heard the gunfire
“It sounded like it was coming from everywhere at once — like someone set off a machine,” she told reporters. “For a moment we thought it was fireworks… then we saw adults dropping to the ground, kids screaming, and parents trying to shield them. It was terrifying.
